The original statue of the Little Mermaid sits on a rock in the harbor of Copenhagen in Langelinie. The small statue (only 1.25 metres high and weighs around 175 kg) is a major icon and tourist attraction in Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital and largest city, and was unveiled in 1913.

But this exact replica can be found in Baywalk of Times Beach, Matina. It is a faithful reproduction complete with its rock by the sea near the jetty. A nearby carved sign for the tourists explains: “…it is considered a national treasure by the Danish people. You can even have your picture be taken with the Little Mermaid in the background and show to your friends telling them you were in Copenhagen last summer.”
